Johanna Berta Bassen (Kuhn), 90 of Wolfville, passed away suddenly on October 8, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Neu Tarutino, Moldova; she was the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Helene (Sucko) Kuhn.<br/><br/>Johanna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved her family dearly and upon her retirement, Johanna moved to Wolfville with her husband Adolf. They became very close to the community and, in particular, the family of friends and neighbors within the Iona Road cul-de-sac. They were an integral part of this community which they treasured greatly.<br/><br/>She took great pride in making and keeping a comfortable home. In her earlier years, she cherished the time spent preparing special meals and the baking for all family occasions, and up to the time of her death, Johanna always enjoyed and looked forward to her weekly ironing.<br/><br/>She is survived by her daughter, Heidemarie (Jürgen) Halbe, Germany; son, Werner (Glen Gray), Wolfville; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.<br/><br/>Besides her parents, Johanna was predeceased by her husband, Adolf; son, Erich; sisters, Lilli (Schelm) and Eleonore (Hildebrand); and brother, Robert.<br/><br/>Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Johanna’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Valley Regional Hospital. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, 34 Coldbrook Village Park Dr., Coldbrook, NS, B4R 1B9 (902-679-2822).

Johanna Berta Bassen (Kuhn), 90 of Wolfville, passed away suddenly on October 8, 2021 in the Valley Regional Hospital. Born in Neu Tarutino, Moldova; she was the youngest daughter of the late Robert and Helene (Sucko) Kuhn.

Johanna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. She loved her family dearly and upon her retirement, Johanna moved to Wolfville with her husband Adolf.
