Joan Cunningham Doyle of Watertown formerly of Cambridge and Belmont Oct 13, 2021. Loving mother of  Robert (Bob) of Weymouth, Patricia (Patty) of Cambridge, Marie of Hudson, John(Jay) and his wife Suzanne of Georgetown, SC., Joan Rasmusson of Souix Falls, SD., Jane Crapulli and her husband Michael of Acton , William (Bill) and his partner Leah Rowe of Belmont and Kristen and her fiance Michael Cardoze of Northborough. Cherished grandmother to Keri, Katie, Michael, Danielle, Christian, Wesley, Evan, Ryan, Andrew, John, Kailey and great grandmother to  Mason, Reilly, Teddy, Parker, Dylan. Sister of Mary McNiel ( husband Richard deceased) of Watertown and John Cunningham and wife Joan of Kingston. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. 


Joan learned at a young age the importance of love and family, while growing up on Kelly St in Cambridge, surrounded by many of her aunts and uncles as they immigrated from Ireland. Joan had 47 1st cousins and kept in touch with many throughout her life. In her younger days she was an avid dancer often winning competitions with her former husband John (Jack) Doyle.


She loved to sing.  She would be the 1st to tell you, "I have a great voice you know!" Before having children she was a governess to famous opera singer Enrico Curroso's grandson, she nannied for Red Sox player Bill Barrett, and Worked for the Director of the Harvard Law School.

 

Joan went on to have 8 children starting in Cambridge and then moving to Belmont where she would see all 8 graduate Belmont High School.
She loved nothing more than to spend time with "the whole gang", enjoying family parties in W Harwich, that always included lots of dancing and singing. 
She enjoyed long car rides in the country with different children where she could enjoy all of God's work. Joan had tremendous faith in God, and always ended a visit or conversation with, "God Bless You".  She will be remembered for her kindness to all, her unconditional love, and her faith in God. She was a blessing to all that were fortunate enough to know her. 

 

Funeral from the Brown & Hickey Funeral Home 36 Trapelo Road Belmont on Saturday Oct 16th at 9:00 AM. Followed by a funeral mass in St Peter church 100 Concord Ave Cambridge at 10:00 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM. Interment Ridgelawn Cemetery, Watertown.  Face masks must be worn at all indoor services.
