On Tuesday, October 12, 2021, Our Mother, Grandma, and Great Grandmother, Gloria Jean McClain passed peacefully into the light, love, and the way of Heaven. We remain in awe and gratitude of her long life and blessings.
Gloria was born on May 28, 1930 in West Virginia to the late Halida & Hasty Adkins and had been a resident of Green for over 60 years. Gloria worked as a secretary in the legal department for Goodyear Aerospace and for the Kohler Coating Co. in Greentown, OH. Gloria was a member of the former First Baptist Church of Green. She was a member of the West Virginia Society located in Randolph, OH. Gloria enjoyed gardening, canning, country music, & traveling & camping throughout the United States in their conversion van with her late husband of 60 years, Robert L. McClain.
She is survived by her children Roger McClain & Kendra (Lorenzo) Schide; grandchildren Jeremy McClain, Melissa (Scott) McClain-Teaford, & Bryce Schide; great-grandchildren Brie & Cameron Teaford; siblings Boncil Stollar & Corbin (Kay) Adkins, as well as many other nieces, nephews, and cousins of the Adkins clan.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 17, from 2-4 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green 4178 Massillon Rd. (at the intersection of Rte. 241 & Steese Rd. Entrance off of Steese) in Green. A funeral service will take place on Monday, October 18, 11:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. (CITY OF GREEN CHAPEL)
