Douglas John Simpson, 54, of Leavenworth, died Monday, Oct. 11, 2021, at home. He was born Oct. 4, 1967, in Bismarck, Penn., the son of Thomas Jackson and June Marie (Spain) Simpson.

On Feb. 26, 2011, Doug married Kelly Kay Kleinbeck in Olathe, Kan. She survives at the home. He is also survived by four daughters, Anastashia Hartley of Leavenworth, Tashua (Michael) Pouliot of Orem, Utah, Jessica (Daniel) Stafford of Olathe, Kan., and Sarah Doan of Leavenworth; a sister, Denise Breide of Eighty Four, Penn.; two brothers, Thomas Simpson of Leavenworth, and Kurt Simpson of Grand Junction, Colo,; and 12 grandchildren.

Doug enjoyed sailboats and going sailing. He also enjoyed going hunting and wood working.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 2021, at the R.L. Leintz Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Cremation will follow the services.
