Joyce Alvine Doty, 84, of Greeley, passed away October 10, 2021. She was born November 24, 1936 in Greeley to Fred and Alvine (Dietz) Alles.
She graduated from Greeley High School in 1954.
On October 5, 1957, she married Gene Dale Doty at St. Paul’s Congregational Church.
Joyce worked for Weld County General Hospital, Gilbert Bishop Drug, as a cook for District 6 and then for Gene Doty Trucking Company for 30 years before retiring.
She loved being in the outdoors, bird watching, traveling in their RV, journaling her daily life, reading and going to garage sales. They wintered in Texas for a number of years and loved her polka music.
She attended Calvary Chapel in Greeley and volunteered with Operation Christmas Child at the church and was a member of the Greeley Audubon Society in previous years.
Survivors include her son, Dale (Debbie) Doty, two grandchildren; Mike (Ashlea) Crockett and Tim Crockett, three great-grandchildren; Hunter, Tristan and Sebastian Crockett, siblings; Barbara (Marlon) Cowser and Fred (Elaine) Alles as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, and daughter, Shari Witt.
Joyce’s Life Celebration will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Calvary Chapel, Greeley with a reception following.
