Nancy Sue Compton, age 70, of Elkhart, passed away Tuesday October 12, 2021 at her home. She was born Apr. 28, 1951 in Goshen, IN to Kenneth and Betty Lechlitner. She married Gordon E. “Kim” Compton on August 11, 2006, he preceded her in death on Aug. 21, 2019.

Nancy graduated from Jefferson High School class of 1969. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Elkhart, she formerly worked at Western Rubber, Architectural Woods and she retired from OSMC in accounts payable. Nancy enjoyed playing cards with her friends, travel and shopping. She loved spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her sons Sean (Gretchen) Stouder of Colon, MI. and Rob (Keri) Stouder of Thompson Station, TN, grandchildren, Haley Stouder, Peighton Stouder, Kylie Stouder, Alana Stouder, Spencer (Faith) Minor, Abby (Alex) Wells and Gretta Minor; great-granddaughter Nora; brother Don (Teresa) Lechlitner of Middlebury, IN and sister Barb (Chuck) Haarer of Middlebury, IN. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Stemm-Lawson-Peterson Funeral Home, 1531 Cobblestone Blvd., Elkhart, IN 46514 where funeral services will be at 11am on Monday, October 18, 2021 where friends may visit one hour before services. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at Rice Cemetery, Elkhart.
