Mary Christine (MacKeigan) Kay, 69 Dominion Mary Christine (MacKeigan) Kay, age 69, of Dominion passed away Monday October 11th, 2021, at Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Palliative Care embraced in the loving arms of her daughter. Mary was happy to retire and relocate and move back home to Cape Breton in 2008, after working at CIBC in Toronto for 35 years. While in Toronto, she spent a good portion of her time at Ponderosa Campground where she camped for 15 years. Anybody that had the pleasure of knowing Mary, knew that she had a great love for Halloween and took immense pride in making her own costumes, often planning them many months in advance. Mary also had a love for baking, animals, taking walks on Dominion Beach, Bingo, and watching her favourite reality TV shows. Mary was known to have a unique sense of humor. She was fun-loving, caring, giving, and having the biggest heart and was always willing to help another whenever she could. Mary is survived by her only daughter Chantelle MacKeigan and special niece Ashley Fowler who was like a second daughter, whom she also shared her birthday with. She had one grandchild – Riki Royal – daughter of Ashley, who had a great love for her Nana Mary. Mary was the eldest and first to pass of her eight siblings and is also survived by her mother-in-law Carmel Nega. She will be dearly missed by all, her two cats - Kitten & Nipper, and especially by a special girl - Ruby Mills. Mary was predeceased by both of her parents, John & Pauline (Nicholson) MacKeigan. Also passing before her, her husband John Kay and life partner William Nega, who was also her high-school sweetheart. Visitation and Celebration of Life will be held on Monday October 18th at T.J. Tracey Funeral Home, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, 902-849-4199, from 12 to 2 p.m. and service to follow with Fr. Daniel Boudreau presiding. Cremation will take place and burial will be held on Tuesday October 19th, 2021 at Forest Haven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Cape Breton Cancer Center or Palliative Care unit at the Regional Hospital. Special thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses that took the utmost care in taking care of Mary. Condolences may be sent to the family by visiting www.tjtracey.com. It is requested that proof of Two Vaccines be presented when attending a Funeral, Visitation and Reception. Thank you
