Dona Booth, 87, of Afton, died Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Greater Regional Health in Creston. Celebration of life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Rev. Jim Morris will officiate the service. Masks are REQUIRED. The service will be available through livestream with the link on the Powers Funeral Home website under the events section. Burial will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, east of Afton. Open visitation will be from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. Friday at Powers Funeral Home in Afton. Dona’s family will not be present for the open visitation. In lieu flowers, memorials are to be determined at a later date for the Afton Park and Kylie and Ayzlee Butterfly Garden. Online condolences may be made at www.powersfh.com. Dona Mae (Klos) Booth, daughter of Floyd Ernest Klos and Crystal (Wick) Klos, was born on June 21, 1934, in Iowa. Following the death of her mother, Dona was raised by her father and step-mother, Lavilla Louise (Terwilliger) Klos. She attended Afton Community schools and was a graduate of Afton High School. Dona was united in marriage to Samuel Rex Booth on August 28, 1953, in Papillion, Nebraska. This union was blessed with two children, Connie and Randy. Together, Dona and Rex owned and operated the East End Café and Bar in Afton as well as the Afton Meat Locker. Dona also held various jobs, worked at C.A.R.E. for many years and sold Avon for more than 18 years. While a sales representative for Avon, Dona received many awards. She was active while living in Afton and enjoyed bowling in the town leagues. Dona is survived by her daughter, Connie (Dave) Cunningham of Afton; grandchildren, Adam Cunningham of Afton, Amber (James) McCarthy of Elkhorn, Ia. and Aric (Erin) Cunningham of Earlham; great-grandchildren, Easton and Irelynd McCarthy and Koen and Nora Cunningham; two brothers, Linden (Wilma) Terwillinger of Stillwater, Minn. and Marvin (Shirley) Klos of New London, Ia.; three sisters, Sally (Wayne) Phillips of Murray, Cindy (Ron) Hornseth of Floyd, Ia. and Deb (Dave) Haymond of Winterset; sister-in-law Brenda Klos of St. Joseph, Mo.; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Rex in 2003, son Randy in 1975, sister Karen (Larry) Geary, brother Bob (Luetta) Klos and Dick Klos and great-granddaughter Ayzlee.
