Jane Wallace

Jane was born in 1931 in Boston of the daughter of James and Greta Gill. Greta was from Jamaica and her husband from Barbados. Jane as a young girl loved tennis. She also ice skated. And best of all she loved playing her baby grand piano.

In 1952 Jane graduated from the Mt. Auburn hospital nursing school. She looked gorgeous. A year forward to1953 she married my father Stanley and settled in Cambridge, Ma. Later, my parents became members of the Nation of Islam starting in the early 1960's to the present. The married in 1954 produced my brother Lorne and his fraternal twin Stanley in Queens, NY and then later we all moved back to Cambridge. Another move to Atlantic City, NJ and after my brother and I graduated from high school and again we all moved back to Cambridge.

Mother had Dementia and Alzheimer’s. She died peacefully in her sleep. Jane was wonderful, soft on the inside but tough on the outside.

Join Zoom Meeting

https://us02web.zoom.us/j/5255289783?pwd=bFF4ZzF5bEpLWlQ4clpIUE5VOFlsUT09

Meeting ID: 525 528 9783

Passcode: 670295

I was truly saddened to learn belatedly of this loss to our community. I used to love our chats on Franklin Street where I would see her tending her flowers or waiting for the mail. As-Salaam-Alaikum, Jane.
