Jean Joan Hayes

Jean Joan Hayes was born July 14, 1931 in Okemah, OK to George Flanders & Tressie Burleson Flanders. She went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday October 13, 2021 at the age of 90 in Chickasha, OK. Joan graduated from Hartshorne High School in May 1949. Joan married A.J. Hayes Jr. November 9, 1950 in Van Buren, AK. They had three sons Larry, Alan, & Kim. Joan was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church Chickasha. She loved the Lord and her church family. She was a homemaker, also working at Grady Memorial Hospital as a Ward Clerk in the late 60’s into the early 70’s, where she was loved by all staff & associates. She then enjoyed her time with AJ, traveling & making memories. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, & great grandchildren. She was loved by her children Alan Hayes of Chickasha, Kim & Shirley Hayes of Chickasha. Grandchildren Michael & Leah Hayes, Kevin & Dallas Hayes, Valarie Walker, Melanie & Kevin Riley, Stephanie & Trent Bohot, 12 great grandchildren, & 1 great, great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband AJ, & her son Larry. A special thanks to Lifeline Hospice for their caring staff and loving care for Joan. Viewing & Visitation will be held Friday, October 15, 2021 3pm-7pm @ Bible Baptist Church, Chickasha. Celebration of Life will be held Saturday October 16, 2021 10am @ Bible Baptist Church, Chickasha.
