With heavy hearts and deepest sorrow, we announce Riley DeLee Roberts, our beloved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and cousin, passed early the morning of Saturday, October 2, 2021.
Riley was born on March 5, 2002 in Gillette Wyoming. He is second of three sons to Michael and Stacey Roberts. He has a little brother, Selleck (Selly).
Although only 19 at the time of his death, Riley touched numerous lives in his short lifetime. If you knew him well, or had only met him once, he always left you thinking. Whether it was about how stunningly handsome he was with his Montucky Mullet blowing in the breeze: ridiculously funny, so incredibly caring with all of his heart, be it with words or songs, he left a mark on you in an incredible way.
Riley loved many things in life. He loved music and sharing music with others. He loved to “hustle” people at pool for Pendleton 7’s. He loved to help people in any way he could. He could be rambunctious, he was hilarious, he would always cheer you up and he gave the best hugs known to mankind. He had the most fun on the water, jet skiing, boating. He tried to be a stuntman on dirtbikes and “just send it”. He loved to drive backroads and listen to music and make random unannounced trips home just to get some meat and potatoes and ranch to eat.
In preschool, Riley’s teacher wrote a note indicating that Riley had made brass knuckles out of Play Dough that day! He was always the student that was told “to talk less and pay attention” according to teachers. Riley dabbled in football, but was too nice to tackle hard, and he loved to play basketball. His favorite year was when he got to play with his brother, and they went to State that year together.
After graduating high school, Riley had an aspiration to start his own business with his brothers and call it Roberts Siding, Roofing and Exteriors. He worked hard at learning all aspects so they would be successful at what they did.
Family was the most important to Riley. He loved his brothers, mom, and dad so deeply. He spent so much time with them and his nephew Kash. When he went to the park, he was like a kid again playing on the slides and swings. He often was down in Belfry helping Gramma Jean because he was “her favorite grandchild”! He spent time with his aunt Kristi and cousins as often as possible.
Riley cared about everyone in the purest way. He loved you for who you are and always wished the best for all. He leaves behind so many family members and friends; he leaves behind his brothers, Carson (Josie Darrah), Coy Blue, Selly: his nephew Kash, his new niece and namesake Riley Amora Roberts, his mom, his dad, his grandmas, his aunts, uncles and cousins.
RiRi,
You don’t have to apologize.
You are as perfect a son as I could have hoped for.
You are my hero.
You are loved.
You are adored.
Thinking about the strength it took to be you overwhelms us. Obituary

To know Riley was to love him. Those who knew Riley have lost a shining light in their lives.
Riley is up in Heaven raising hell with Papa Red and Gpa.
Surviving that required superhero strength. You were just a human bubby, the sweetest loving man I will ever know. Don’t be sorry. Be at rest.
For it is a blessing to know you’re finally at peace and for all of us who love you, we do not begrudge you the rest you so deserve.
Ol Son. Gone too soon, too many stories untold. We’ll miss you. I hope to see you. May your trail rise up to meet you, may the sun shine warm upon your face: the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of his hand. May the bucks always be big, and cattle gentle. Hats off, ol son.

God speed ~ May God be with you on your journey and with all of us on our journey of learning to live without you.
