Constant Toohey Obituary

Constant Toohey, 87, of Tacoma, WA died Tuesday, October 5, 2021. He was born March 6th, 1934 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He was the son of Gratton and Mary Ellen (Gillespie) Toohey. He was the 6th child of nine brothers and sisters. Con attended school at St. Joseph Cathedral and Washington High School. He married Kathleen Wojciak in 1969.  Preceding Con in death were his Parents, Sister Jeanne (Larry), Brother Bob (Colleen), Brother Patrick, Brother Gerald (MaryAnne), Sister Alice (Doug), Brother-In-Law, Larry, and Nieces and Nephews.  Survivors include Daughter Nicole (Steve), Grandchildren Henri & Jack, Sister Mary Margaret, Sister Catherine (Walley), Brother Richard (Mary), and many Nieces and Nephews. Con was always surrounded by family who cared for him deeply.  Con loved God, and practiced his faith daily, he loved his family, he was a generous, he gave what he had to others throughout his life, and he was the family historian. Con was not a materialistic man, his walls did not display expensive art, he preferred walls filled with images of God, Jesus and the Mother Mary, and overlapping photos of family. Con died on the Feast of Saint Fuastina.  

His family will miss him deeply, we will miss him sharing his love for God, his kind heart, his humble being, his forgiving demeanor, and his love for all he knew. May he rest in peace with God.  

The Rosary will take place at St Vincent De Paul Parish. 30525 8th Avenue South, Federal Way Washington 98003 on October 22nd at 11:30AM, Mass will follow at 12PM PST. The Interment will follow the Mass at Gethsemane Cemetery, 37600 Pacific Highway South, Federal Way, Washington 98003.
