Timothy James Miller Obituary

Timothy James Miller, 65, of Newton died on Monday, October 11, 2021, at his home. A celebration of life visitation will be held from 3-5 p.m., Friday, October 22, 2021, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials in Tim’s name (checks made payable to Cindy Miller) to be used for Stead Family Children’s Hospital in Iowa City or Campfire Scholarships for children to attend Camp Hantesa may be left at the funeral home.

Tim, the son of Thomas Vern and Betsy Kae (Kendall) Miller, was born on November 17, 1955 in Newton. He was a lifelong resident of Newton, graduating from Newton High School in 1974.  Tim was united in marriage with his high school sweetheart Cindy Negus in August of 1975 in Newton.  Tim worked in construction from the time he was 16 years old, finding his final work family at Minturn, Inc. in Brooklyn where he worked for 5 years, retiring in 2020. Tim was a member of the Harley Davidson Owner’s Group (HOG).  He enjoyed woodworking, the Iowa Hawkeyes, fishing, and vacationing in the Caribbean. 

Tim is survived by his wife, Cynthia “Cindy” Miller of Newton; sons, Anthony (Tammy) Miller of Marion and  their children, Wexton, Vauhn, and Dalen Miller and Trevor Miller of West Allis, Wisconsin; and his sister, Pam Miller of Newton. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Chris Miller.
