<p>It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Martin William Jeremiah McLean of Miramichi at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, on October 9, 2021, at the age of 63.</p> <p>Born in Atikokan, Ontario on October 26, 1957, he was the son of the late Leland and Angeline (Casey) McLean.&nbsp; He was employed as a Heavy Equipment Operator at Repap/UPM in Miramichi for over 28 years, as well as the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure in his later years.</p> <p>He is survived by one son, Anthony of Miramichi; partner, Cheryl Copp; her son, Leslie Allen of Boom Road; five sisters:&nbsp; Joan (John) of Miramichi, Susan (Colin) of Guelph, Mary and Cathy, both of Barnaby, Peggy of Ottawa; one uncle, Fred of Thunder Bay; six nieces and nephews:&nbsp; Jennifer (Joey), Vanessa (Bryce), Nicholas, Matthew, Kelly, Brett; and seven great-nieces and nephews: Ava, Maddox, Mya, Charlotte, Jackson, Bria, Dax; and numerous cousins.</p> <p>Aside from his parents, he is predeceased by his sister, Cynthia.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Family would like to take this opportunity to extend special thanks to Dr. Gerard Losier, Dr. Watts, Dr. Haddad, and Dr. Francois Swart for their compassionate care of Martin.&nbsp; Also, a special thanks to the Oncology department and the amazing staff on 3 East and the Emergency Room, as they all took such wonderful care of our Brother. We cannot thank you all enough.</p> <p>A private service and burial were held at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church, Barnaby River, on Thursday, October 14th, 2021, with Father Anthony Dass-Papu and Father Dan Bastarache as Celebrants.&nbsp; Music for the service was provided by Jackie Allain and the hymns were:&nbsp; &quot;Blessed&quot;, &quot;The Lord is my Shepherd&quot;, &quot;Take Me Home&quot;, &quot;In God&#39;s House&quot; and &quot;On Eagle&#39;s Wings&quot;.&nbsp; The scripture readings were read by Faye MacDonald-Mountain and Melanie Casey-Flanagan. Prayers of the Faithful were offered by Melanie Casey- Flanagan.&nbsp; The eulogy was presented by Anthony McLean and Brett Irlam.&nbsp;</p> <p>Interment was held in the Most Pure Heart of Mary Cemetery.&nbsp; Pallbearers were:&nbsp; Anthony McLean, Gerard Regan, Brett Irlam, Colin King, Leslie Allen, Greg Daley, George Mountain, and Nathan DeLong.</p> <p><b>Please Note:</b></p> <p>As per Government regulations, mandatory masking, proof of FULL vaccination, and government-issued ID are required upon entry to the funeral.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Dr. Gerard and Judy Losier Family Foundation or to a charity of the donor&rsquo;s choice would be appreciated by the family.
