<p>Bobby Lee Hamlin went to be with his Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2021. &nbsp;Born August 27, 1929, in Thomaston, Georgia to Henry Hubert Hamlin and Daisy Bell Branch Hamlin, he proudly served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Tarawa February 5, 1946 - August 25, 1949. He was a participant in Operation Crossroads ordered by the Joint Chiefs of Staff testing the effects of the atomic bomb on naval vessels and conducted at Bikini Atoll, Marshall Islands.<br /> Once discharged, Bobby returned to Macon, Georgia and met the love of his life - Jacquelyn Runnette Ramsey. They married September 29, 1950 in the family home of the bride. They were married for 61 wonderfully blessed years until her death in 2012.<br /> <br /> Relocating to the Detroit area (Michigan) in approximately 1953, Bobby worked at Ford Motor Company. In 1959, Bobby completed his apprenticeship in the trades of carpentry which led to a fulfilling career &nbsp;<br /> <br /> A carpenter by trade, Bobby was very active with the Masonic lodge. A long-term (54 yrs) member and supporter of the Masonic brotherhood, Bob joined the Architect University #569 lodge (MI) in 1967. May 1968, Bob achieved 32&deg; Scottish Rite. &nbsp;Dedication, study, &amp; hard work led him through the various chairs resulting In becoming master of Architect University Lodge #569 in 1976.<br /> Moving back to GA, Bobby was a charter member of the William A. Davis Masonic Lodge and also joined Al Sihah Temple as a Shriner. Supporting the Shriners Children&rsquo;s Hospital and the Shriners circus became a passion. In January 2004 he became commander of the Legion of Honors unit at the shrine temple<br /> <br /> Mr. Hamlin is survived by his 4 children: Donna Leonard (Patrick) Fort Valley, GA; Kelmer Bruce Hamlin (Linda) Ypsilanti, MI; Cheryl Lynn Keeling (Frank) Byron, GA; &amp; Michael Hamlin (Barbara) Macon, GA.; 6 grandchildren: Robert Jackson, Jeffrey Jackson, Katy Michels, Kevin Hamlin, Jason Hamlin, and Hunter Hamlin and 9 great grandchildren.<br /> <br /> Bobby and Jacquelyn&rsquo;s ashes will be joined together and scattered in the ocean to eternally rest in peace together.<br /> <br /> May the blessings of heaven be with each and every one of you.<br /> <br /> A memorial service will be at a future date.</p>
