Luella Josephine Buscombe

Buscombe, (Luella) Josephine “Jo” (nee vander Maaten) June 16, 1931 – October 10, 2021 Passed away peacefully at Margaret Bahen Hospice on Sunday October 10th, 2021, in her 91st year. She will be forever missed by her daughter Holly (late Randy Roberts). Grandchildren Andrew (Jennie), Michelle (Justin), Leslie (Dylan), and 7 great grandchildren, Brody, Olivia, Madelynn, Arlo, Arianna, Oscar and Mae. Predeceased by her parents Jack and Hazel van der Maaten and her siblings Vennnetta (Ted) and Leona (Don). Jo’s enjoyment of singing lead her to become a member of the Sweet Adelines International Chorus. Her competitive spirit pushed her to become a member of the Gold Medal winning North Metro Chorus where she developed many strong friendships, and travelled across North America. Jo’s artistic talents stretched across a variety of mediums, pen and ink, watercolour, and paper tole. The subject matter included nature, architecture, and portraits of great grandchildren. Many of her works decorate the homes of her grandchildren today. We would like to extend our special thanks to her Southlake Palliative Care Team and caring staff at Margaret Bahen Hospice. Visitation will be held at Roadhouse & Rose Funeral Home, 157 Main Street South, Newmarket on Thursday October 14, 2021. If you wish to attend the visitation, please see instructions below. Due to covid restrictions, a private funeral service will be held in the chapel followed by interment at Queensville Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Margaret Bahen Hospice.
