Connie Millsap Bateman, age 71 of Abingdon, Va., passed away on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.  She was born to the late L. Franklin Millsap and Dorothy Thomas Millsap.  She volunteered for Johnston Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of Greenfield Baptist Church.  In addition to her parents, Connie was also preceded in death by her son, Gale Bateman, PhD.  She is survived by her husband, Howard Bateman; sister, Joyce Ann Millsap of Abingdon, Va.; brother, David Lynn Millsap and wife, Kimberlee, of Abingdon, Va.; two grandsons, Brady Bateman and Dylan Bateman of Lewisburg, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Jana Huff Bateman, of Lewisburg, Ohio; aunt, Marjorie Thomas of Abingdon, Va.; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.       A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in Rosedale Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Roy Bateman, Sr. officiating.  Visitation will follow the graveside service in the fellowship hall of Rosedale Baptist Church.    Memorial contributions may be made to Faith in Action, P.O.
