James Burton McGowan II, age 68, a resident of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, passed away on October 11, 2021. Jim was a graduate of Baker High School and received an associate’s degree from California College. He was a respiratory therapist for 45 years. He loved his job and teaching and training new therapists. Jim was also a very loving husband, father and brother.

Jim is survived by his wife, Stephanie McGowan; his children, Amanda Butler, James Burton McGowan III, and Matthew McGowan; and his sisters, Karen Peyton and Holly Clancy.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Noland McGowan and father, James Burton McGowan, and brother, Timothy McGowan.

Visiting hours will take place at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, October 15, 2021 at St. Patrick Catholic Church from 10:30 am until Mass at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
