Mr. Richard Lee Lambert Obituary

Mr. Richard Lee Lambert of Jackson, Mississippi, was born on February 8, 1946, to the late Henry Lee Lambert and Beatrice Roper Lambert of Louise, Mississippi. Richard transitioned to his heavenly home on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, surrounded by family. His wife Betty Pinkston Lambert whom he was married to for over 45 years, preceded him in death. His sisters Ruth Lambert, and Lillie Mae Penn, brothers Charlie Lee Lambert and Eddie D. Roper also preceded him in death.

Richard gave his life to Christ at an early age. In 2000, he joined St. Luther Baptist Church, where he served faithfully until his health failed.

Richard Lambert was an extra hard worker taking care of his children and grandchildren. He worked at Mississippi Power and Light and later on Delphi Packard Electric for 25 years as a machine operator where he retired.

He started singing around the age of 10 years old. He began his professional career singing with the Louise Jubilees and later became a member of the Goldenaires. He ended his singing career singing with his brothers the late Charlie Lee “Wooster” Lambert and Silvester Lambert with the Dynamic Golden Stars.

His memory will forever be cherished by his four children Anessa Lambert, Willie (Michelle) Brown, Rickey (Tiffany) Anderson and Corey Ledbetter, all of Jackson, Mississippi, three sisters, River Lee Lambert, Wilma Jean Adams, and Dorothy Brown all of Jackson, Mississippi, and a brother Silvester Lambert of Jackson, Mississippi, 16 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, a long -time dear friend Jesse Adams and other relatives and close friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Richard Lee Lambert will be at Peoples Chapel, 886 North Farish Street, Jackson,  Mississippi at 11:00 a.m.  Saturday, October 16, 2021 with his final resting place being, Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, 202 Oxmead Road, Midnight, Mississippi.
