James P. Haberlack, 79, Minot, ND, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Sanford Hospital in Fargo, ND.    James Paul Haberlack was born June 19,1942, in Rugby, ND, to Helen (Ebach) and Wendelin Haberlack. He was raised on the family farm, which was located a mile and a half from Karlsruhe, ND. He attended Karlsruhe schools and graduated from high school in 1960.  Following his high school graduation, he started working construction with Freddy Brothers, building the new Karlsruhe school. He continued his construction career with Orheim, Alm and Fugelseth Masonry for many years and numerous buildings still show his talent for brick laying. Jim was employed by Midwest Federal as the head maintenance man from 1980, until his retirement in 2003.  He met the love of his life, Karen Kossan July 6, 1962. They were united in marriage June 13, 1964, in Minot, where they made their home until recent health problems caused a move to Fargo. They were blessed with four children: Todd, Carrie, Paul and Michelle, and raised them with all the love in the world. Their home was the place for many family gatherings and friends and relatives knew they were always welcome. He loved camping and watching his children and grandchildren at their many sporting events. He was a wonderful carpenter and could build orfix anything. His help was always requested and never denied, which showed the type of manhe was. He was strong in his faith and attended mass regularly. He showed a quiet strengththat his family could always count on, and his advice and stories will be passed on forgenerations.  Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Karen Haberlack; children, Todd (Tamara)Haberlack, Monroe, WA; Carrie (Randy) Henrikson, Moorhead, MN; Paul (Ashley) Haberlack,West Fargo, ND, and Michelle (Bryan) Schwan, Velva, ND; grandchildren, Emily (Jake)Anderson, Erica Henrikson of Moorhead, MN, Alexa Haberlack, Seattle WA; ChandlerHaberlack, Marysville WA; Taylor Haberlack, Drexler Schantz of West Fargo, ND; Madeline,Brecca and Sadie Schwan of Velva, ND; great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Louden and LayneAnderson of Moorhead, MN; brothers, Paul (Elaine) Haberlack, David (Kathy) Haberlack; sister, Susan (Bill) Petasek; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Wendelin and Helen Haberlack; sister, Rose Zieglerand brother-in-law, Martin Ziegler, former brother-in-law, Steve McCormick and an infant sister.  Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 10:30 a.m. at Little Flower Catholic Church, Minot. Interment:  Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Velva, ND. Visitation:  Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society and Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Velva, ND.  The service will be livestreamed for the public to view and can be accessed by going to https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCkw5wBH7W_IUwKUcuLvhgOw
