Edward Heinrich Obituary

Edward Keith “Ed” Heinrich, age 70, of Tebbetts, Mo., peacefully passed away Monday October 11, 2021, at Capital Region Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Ed was born on February 8, 1951 in Arlington, Ks., a son of Charles Harold and Ruth (Bridges) Heinrich. He was married on January 24, 1970 in Ferguson, Mo., to Barbara Dianne Wood, who survives at the home.

A lifelong resident of the central Missouri area, Ed graduated from Jefferson City High School.

He was employed as a parts advisor in the automotive industry for over 30 years until his retirement in 2007. Ed began his career at Norman’s Auto Supply and also worked for Doc Meyers. Most recently, Ed retired at the parts advisor with Capitol City Chrysler. You could always count on Ed to know every part and part number for anything you needed because he had many of the numbers even memorized. He was truly your “go-to” guy when it came to locating parts or solving car problems.

Ed was a member of First Baptist Church and one of his proudest moments was when he was baptized with his daughter, Tina.

Ed was very talented when it came to working with his hands and passionate about fixing cars. He could often be found in his beloved shop tinkering, replacing engines or rebuilding an antique car. Along with being extremely talented with cars, he was also a carpenter and craftsman. He built furniture, remodeled his home, did kitchen remodels, and refinished antique furniture for himself and others. He was extremely particular about his work and put all of his energy into it, which showed when his masterpieces were complete.

When Ed wasn’t working, you could find him going to Drag Races, finding new places to play a weekly game of Bingo or enjoying the outdoors. He cherished the relationships he made with his friends at the weekly Bingo games. Ed’s love for card games started at a young age with his mom and his brothers. He was also a member of a bowling league in his younger years. Ed found peace being outside and never let his yard look less than perfect. He truly enjoyed his time outside mowing the lawn and being out in nature, deer and squirrel hunting.

Survivors include: his loving wife, Barbara Heinrich; three children, Bryan Heinrich (wife Beth) of Jefferson City, Mo., Tina Culp (husband Bill) of Jefferson City, Mo. and Darin “Zeek” Heinrich (wife Rachael) of Tebbetts, Mo.; three brothers, Donnie Heinrich (wife Peggy) of Jefferson City, Mo., Danny Heinrich (wife Debbie) of Taos, Mo. and Marvin Heinrich of Jefferson City, Mo.; two sisters-in-law, Debbie Heinrich of Jefferson City, Mo. and Janita Hulett (husband Ray) of Camdenton, Mo.; six grandchildren, Hailey Culp, Sarah Culp, Mason Cockerham, Gannon Heinrich, Ashton Cockerham and Colton Heinrich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Larry Jones and his wife Janice, and Bill Heinrich; his aunt, Helen Bradley; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jesse and Nathalie (Sweatt) Wood.
