ALEXANDRIA MERLO

<p>Alexandria (Horkun) Merlo passed away peacefully at her home Friday, October 8, 2021, at the age of 98.</p> <p>Known as Sally to all who loved her, she was born in Southwick, MA on May 25, 1923, to Alexander and Ustinia (Kleshevich) Horkun.</p> <p>Sally&rsquo;s greatest joy was her family who will forever cherish memories of holiday gatherings, Sunday dinners, and summers spent together by the pool. She is a longtime member of Southwick Congregational Church.&nbsp;</p> <p>Sally leaves behind two daughters, Lana Sipitkowski and her husband Ron of Suffield, CT and Donna Walker and her husband Steven of North Stonington, CT. She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Loree Rippy, Jerry Merlo and his wife Shelby, Alexander Merlo, Tara Quagliaroli and her husband Jeremy Stoddard, and Kelly Dougherty and her husband Blake; four great-grandchildren: Ian, and Mya, Riley and Gavin who lovingly called her LaLa, and several loving nieces and nephews.</p> <p>In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Ernest, her daughter Sandra and six brothers and sisters.&nbsp;</p> <p>Family and friends are invited to gather from 9:30 AM &ndash; 10:30 AM Saturday, October 16, 2021, at Avalon Life Celebration Center &amp; Cremation Services, 691 College Hwy, Southwick, MA 01077&nbsp; proceeding to Southwick Cemetery for burial and committal prayers.&nbsp;</p> <p>For those who wish memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children&rsquo;s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105&nbsp; Online donation may be made at stjude.org</p> <p>To express condolences to the family please visit Sally&rsquo;s memorial page at www.avaloncelebrations.com</p>
