Iretta Rapp Obituary

Iretta Harding Rapp, 93, of Idaho Falls, passed away October 8, 2021, in Rexburg, ID, at Homestead Assisted Living Memory Care. 

Iretta was born May 31, 1928, in Idaho Falls, ID, to Leonard Marion Harding and Emma Mable Dalley Harding. She had five siblings. She grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, at Riverside, O.E. Bell and Idaho Falls High School. She graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1946.

On April 23, 1947, she married Bobby Dean Rapp in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, where they raised six children. She worked at FW Woolworths, JC Penney, Bernina, Prudential Insurance, Fabricland, ZCMI, Riverview Hospital business office, and she also had a fabric store in her garage called Mom's Fabrics. She retired at age 86. She was known for her sewing, seamstress work and alterations. 

Iretta took care of her mom from 1979 to 1992. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many positions throughout her life. She was a temple worker and printed the ward bulletin for years. She was a quiet woman.

Her family includes her husband, Bobby (deceased) of 74 years; her children, Meikle (deceased) (Ginger) Rapp of Bountiful, UT, Connie (Ronald) Schuldt (both deceased), Teressa (Lynn) Jenkins, Hal (Lesa) Rapp, Sheri (Curtis) Johnson, and Bruce Rapp, all of Idaho Falls.

She has 21 grandchildren; 39 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby, her daughter, Connie, and son, Meikle, her parents, and brothers and sisters, Lucy Jane Bingham, Marion Dalley Harding, Glen Henry Harding, Emma Faye Harding and Leslie Doyle Harding.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021, at Rose Hill Cemetery in Idaho Falls.  A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 - 10:45 a.m. prior at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Avenue in Idaho Falls. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff from Hands of Hope Hospice and Homestead Assisted Living for the special care given to Iretta.
