Lorena May Roenfeldt Obituary

Lorena May Roenfeldt, 89, died Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in Littleton, Colorado. She was born June 21, 1932 in Julesburg, Colorado the daughter of George & Margaret (Savolt) Roth.


Lorena moved with her family to Holcomb, Kansas at the age of 3. She lived on a farm north of Holcomb with her parents and five younger siblings. She attended Holcomb schools and graduated from Holcomb High School.


On June 5, 1951, she married Raymond Charles Biernacki and they lived in Ulysses, Kansas. They had six children. Lorena later moved to Dodge City, Kansas in 1977. In December 1985, she married Richard Roenfeldt in Dodge City. Lorena was a homemaker and was employed by the US Postal Service. After her retirement in 1993, she enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading, and traveling with her husband in their motor home. They traveled to all 50 states and spent the winters in Arizona.


Survivors include five Children, Stanley Biernacki & wife Kristi of Lake Stevens, Washington, Rick & wife Jenni Biernacki of Lewisville, Texas, Randy & wife Brenda Biernacki of Flower Mound, Texas, Debra & husband Brad Geissler of Littleton, Colorado, & Connie & husband Doug Delzeit of Bluff Dale, Texas; a daughter-in-law Karen Biernacki of Ocean Shores, Washington; three Step-Children Dr. Richard & wife Lynn Roenfeldt of Dodge City, Kansas, Elaine & husband Tom Morrison of Greeley, Colorado, & Connie & husband Marvin Deines of Greeley, Colorado; a brother Ed & wife Martina Roth of Garden City, Kansas; a sister Diane & husband Mike Brungardt of Olathe, Kansas; Seventeen Grandchildren; Fourteen Great-Grandchildren; Seven Step-Grandchildren; and Ten Step-Great Grandchildren.


Lorena is preceded in death by her husband Richard Roenfeldt who died in April 2015. She is also preceded in death by her parents; a son Steven Charles Biernacki; a Granddaughter Heather M. Biernacki; a Great-Grandson Charlie Eberly; two brothers Ron Roth and Don Roth; and a sister Mary Ann Ladner.


A Celebration of Lorena’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 16, 2021 at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City, Kansas with Rev. Daniel Biernacki officiating. The service may also be viewed on Facebook Live on the Garnand Funeral Home Facebook Page. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Garden City. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials given to Family Tree in care of the funeral home.
