Brandon "Bran" Derek Johnson Obituary

BRANDON "BRAN" DEREK JOHNSON, 32, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, due to COVID-19 related complications.

Brandon was a graduate of Chattanooga State Technical Community College, where he earned an Associate’s degree in nursing. He then went on to work for Dialysis Clinic Inc. for eleven years.  The family would like to thank the members of Hamilton County EMS, as well as the nurses and staff at Erlanger hospital for their efforts.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Crandle “Pap” Gravitt; and his paternal grandfather, Thomas Johnson.

He is survived by his college sweetheart and wife of 12 years, Crystal Johnson; his father, Ransom Johnson; his mother Kathy Johnson (Gravitt); his sister Leslie Massengale (Calvin); his maternal grandmother, Doris Gravitt; and his paternal grandmother, Pauline Johnson. He is also survived by his nephew, Hunter Massengale; and his niece, Harper Massengale; as well as many extended family members.

Brandon was known for his lighthearted personality and his mischievous smirk that always let on when he was telling a tall tell. He could always make anyone laugh and was more than willing to share his exuberant spirit with the world. He was a loving and committed husband and son, as well as friend and coworker. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him but his charming smile will never be forgotten.

DUE TO COVID REGULATIONS, MASK WILL BE MANDATORY WHETHER YOU HAVE UNDERLYING ISSUES OR NOT.

The family will be accepting friends and visitors for fellowship and a celebration of Brandon’s life from 4pm to 5pm CDT on Thursday, October 14, 2021.

Funeral services will be conducted from the Tate’s funeral home chapel on Thursday, October 14, 2021, at 5pm CDT, with Bro. Bryan Mowery officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Greyhound Rescue Foundation of Tennessee in honor of Brandon’s beloved greyhound Minnie.
