Mr. Emory Alton Sigman, Jr., age 66, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021.  He was born May 11, 1955 in Covington and grew up in Newton County.  He attended Newton County High School and joined the United States Navy.  Mr. Sigman was an owner/operator driving a truck for his career.  He enjoyed fishing, grilling, gardening, listening to music, and spending time with his girls. 

Mr. Sigman was preceded in death by his wife Judy Sigman, his father and step mother Emory, Sr. and Joann Sigman, and his mother and step father Patricia and Edward Arthur.  He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Helms (Toby) of Oxford and Heather Hillman (Randy) of Acworth; he has one granddaughter Sarah Hillman; his siblings Alan Sigman (Marcie), Tony Arthur, and Sue Arthur; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other family and close friends.

Memorial services for Mr. Sigman will be held at 3 o’clock Saturday, October 16, 2021 at the Chapel of J.C. Harwell and Son Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service.  J.C. As of April 8, 2021, Governor Brian Kemp has lifted the restrictions for large gatherings and other recommendations throughout Georgia.  However, we ask that you still be respectful of the family and others during this time.
