Claire S. Winkler, 82, of Hamilton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Penn Medicine Princeton Medical Center in Plainsboro, NJ. Born in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Winkler resided in Trenton all her life. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in Burlington, NJ. She married the love of her life, Edwin J. Winkler, Sr., and worked with her husband to start Trenton Diesel, Inc. Claire was the bookkeeper while Ed ran the shop. They were in business for over 40 years and eventually they retired to pursue their hobbies. Her husband Ed loved antique cars and tractors and anything that moved. Mom loved to read and spend time with her family but her hobby was her beach house in Normandy Shores. She loved decorating the house, watching her family enjoy the beach, and enjoying a glass of wine with all of her wonderful neighbors. Predeceased by her parents, Florence (Beck) and George Steinert and her husband of 58 years, Edwin J. Winkler, Sr. She is survived by her son, Edwin Winkler, Jr. and his wife, Cynthia; her daughter, Elaine Van Noord and her husband, Richard; her grandchildren, Christina Winkler, Brian Winkler and his wife, Molly, and Elise and Elizabeth Van Noord; and her several nieces and nephews. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square, NJ. A Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Monday, October 18, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Greenwood Cemetery, 1800 Hamilton Avenue, Hamilton, NJ 08619. Masks are optional for all vaccinated attendees at the visitation and funeral services of Mrs. Winkler.
