Arla S. Irish

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arla S. Irish, 88, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021, at Burlington Health and Rehab Center, after a long illness.

Arla was born in Charlotte, VT on November 14, 1932, the daughter of Carlton H. and Ilda M. (Robertson) Irish.  

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am the Cloverdale Cemetery, Route 15, Westford, VT.  She was a graduate of Essex High School.  On August 29, 1951, Arla married Ronald Irish in Burlington, VT.  They made many happy memories together in their 33 years of marriage.  Ronald passed away in 1984.

Arla was an incredible wife, mother and homemaker who delighted in caring for her family.  She had all the cooking, cleaning and sewing down to a science.  Family and friends delighted in her delicious pickles, jams, and jellies.  In addition to preserving, she enjoyed fishing, berry picking, garage sales and visiting local antique shops.  

Left to cherish Arla’s memory are her daughter Linda Fisher and her husband Tom; her sister Marie St. Peter; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents Harry in 1980 and Ilda in 1988; her husband Ronald in 1984; her son Scott in 2016; and her daughter Pam in 2000. 

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 11:00 am the Cloverdale Cemetery, Route 15, Westford, VT.
