Lloyd A. Oman

<p>Lloyd Alvin Oman, 91, of Brady, NE, died October 10, 2021 at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, NE.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Lloyd was born July 13, 1930 in Arnold, NE, to Alvin &quot;Jack&quot; and Elsie (Waltermire) Oman. He graduated from the University of Nebraska School of Agriculture in 1947.&nbsp; Following High School he went to work for his father as a Farm Hand until enlisting in the Army in 1951.&nbsp; He served his country from 1951-1954 serving in Korea and earning the Korean Service Medal, three Bronze Service Stars, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and Commendation Ribbon with Medal Pendent.&nbsp;</p> <p>Following his Honorable discharge from the Army Lloyd returned to Wild Horse Valley where he farmed until his health would no longer allow him.&nbsp; He loved farming and talking to other farmers and neighbors over a cup of coffee, whether at the house or at the coffee shop.&nbsp; Lloyd enjoyed working on motors, especially GM motors and loved GMC vehicles.&nbsp; He loved dogs and always had at least one to keep him company.&nbsp; Lloyd always enjoyed a big bowl of ice cream any chance he had.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p><br /> Survivors include brother, Harlen Oman of Hartly, DE; sister, Shirley&nbsp;Synovec of DeWitt; six nephews, Blaine Almstrum of Medina OH, Harlen Oman, Jr. of Hartly DE, Charles Oman Sr. of Hartly DE, James Oman of Harty DE, Kevin Oman of Lynnhaven, FL, Larry Synovec of Crete NE; two nieces, Vicki Almstrum of Austin, TX, and Vangi McCoy of Dolores, CO; numerous cousins, great nephews, and great nieces; and friend, Justin (Andrea) Carlson of Gothenburg.</p> <p>Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents Alvin &quot;Jack&quot; and Elsie Oman,&nbsp; sister Lucille (Billy) Almstrum, sister-in-law Marjorie Oman, and brother-in-law Marvin Synovec.</p> <p>Graveside Services will be held at Fort McPherson National Cemetery, Monday, October 18, 2021 at 11:00 am with Pastor Scott Newman officiating.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>Memorials may be given to the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney or the Brady Library Foundation.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Lloyd Alvin Oman, 91, of Brady, NE, died October 10, 2021 at the Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney, NE.  

Lloyd was born July 13, 1930 in Arnold, NE, to Alvin "Jack" and Elsie (Waltermire) Oman.
