Michael C. Flynn, Jr.

<p>Michael &ldquo;Mickey&rdquo; C. Flynn, Jr. passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 89. Mickey was the beloved patriarch of the Flynn family. After losing both his parents before he turned 16, he quit school and became the primary caregiver for his younger brothers Jack (Alice) and Jimmy (Dee). Collectively, they were known as &ldquo;The Brothers&rdquo;. His role as the family leader continued until he was taken from us.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Mickey was born in Philadelphia on January 8, 1932 to the late Michael C. Flynn, Sr. and Margaret Hyland. He grew up in the Schuylkill&nbsp;area and stayed connected to the neighborhood throughout his life.&nbsp; He was a private first class in the US Army from 1954 to 1962. He was a Plant Manager with American Meter Company for 42 years. After retiring, he spent many more years working in various country clubs working well into his 80&rsquo;s.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In 1954, he married the late Mary Ellen Bobb and they were blessed with four children, Michael, Patti Brahler (Rich), Billy (deceased) and Danny (Tammy). He also had six grandchildren: Stephenie (David), Carolyn, Steve (Katie), Brendan, Sean, Kelly and four great grandchildren: Helena, Desmond, Benny, Aubrey. He also had many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. Mickey enjoyed golfing, reading and traveling.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass which will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, October 16th at St. Christopher&rsquo;s Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116 where friends may call 9:00-9:45 A.M. at the Church. Interment will follow the mass at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA.</p> <p>In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Convent of Divine Love, 2212 Green Street, Philadelphia, PA 19130.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Michael “Mickey” C. Flynn, Jr. passed away on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the age of 89. Mickey was the beloved patriarch of the Flynn family.
