Karla L. Fisher Obituary

Karla L. Fisher, age 71, of Chesterfield, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 10, 2021 , at Community Hospital in Anderson following a brief illness.  She was born in Elwood on February 22, 1950, the daughter of James Lee Alumbaugh and Beverly  (Moore) George.

Karla was a very motivated entrepreneur. She owned and operated Duck Creek Antiques, K & S Sweet Shop and The Cat's Meow located in Elwood.  She enjoyed antiques, baking, gardening, and loved her furry friends.  

Karla is survived by her mother, Beverly George of Elwood; two sons, Michael McCarley of Elwood and Scott McCarley of Kokomo; daughter, Beverly Swalley of Noblesville; five grandchildren, James McCarley, Grant McCarley, Jacob Headley, Jackson Morales and Brittnee Lynn Hoffman; two great -granddaughters, Maddy Miles Benales and Hazel McCarley; three sisters, Teresa Bulla and Tammy Oquinn both of Sulphur, LA, and  Marilyn Martin of Sebring, FL; two brothers, Richard (Tabbi) Bulla of Frankton, IN and Kevin Bulla of Lake Charles, LA; a special friend, Bill Benson of Alexandria; step-son, Aaron Benson of Noblesville; step-daughter, Tyler Benson of Alexandria; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved furry friends Lucy, Fred, Andy and Milo.

Karla was preceded in death by her father, James Alumbaugh; and two sisters, Shaun Lynn Alumbaugh and Linda Lee Alumbaugh.

Karla's wishes were to be cremated with no services.  Dunnichay Funeral Home is honored to serve Karla's wishes and the Fisher family. 
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Karla's honor are suggested to Heart of Hoosierland Humane Society.
