<p>Patricia Ellen Edbrooke</p> <p> - 03/30/2019</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia Ellen Edbrooke announces her passing on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the age of 89.</p> <p>Born August 1, 1929 in Oak Park, IL, a long time resident of Villa Park, IL, Patricia is survived by her beloved sister Marilyn (Patrick) Smith. Loving mother of five children, the late Raymond (Kathy) Edbrooke, Sheryl (late Alan) Watkins, Patrice (late William) Hild, Thomas Edbrooke, and James Edbrooke. Grandchildren Benjamin, Aaron, Shannon, Suzanne, William, Lynn, Scott, Julia, Garrett. Seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.</p> <p>Patricia is preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Alice Dennehy, and siblings Joseph, Eileen, Lauretta, and Thomas.</p> <p>She graduated at age 80 from Northwestern University with a major in Philosophy of Communication. Her earlier career included work as editor and writer for corporate and advertising, later accepting a position at United Way of Illinois as Director of Public Affairs until she retired.</p> <p>“Patsy” loved the City of Chicago and everything it had to offer; the arts, opera, and theatre. She sang in the choir at Holy Name Cathedral and St. John&#8217;s Parish, as well as in plays, television, and on radio. She had a lifelong passion for politics, which included campaigning for both John and Robert Kennedy. Also an active member of The Chicago Council on Foreign Affairs.</p> <p>Patricia was always there for the less fortunate, she loved life, and enjoyed each day to the fullest. She had a great sense of humor and an incredible smile. She will be greatly missed.</p> <p><strong>Visitation Friday April 5, 2019 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Steuerle Funeral Home 350 S. Ardmore Ave, Villa Park, Il and where prayers will be said on Saturday April 6, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:15 a.m. at St. John the Apostle Church 330 N. Westmore Ave, Villa Park, IL. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL.
