John Zappavigna, age 60, of Tinley Park, IL, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2021 after a courageous battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

John is the loving husband to Stella Zappavigna for over 32 years; proud father to Kristina (Richard) Stevenson and Alex (Erin Browne) Zappavigna; patient brother to Paul Zappavigna, Marie (Richard) Larsen, Karen (David) Hoogland, Laura (Joseph) Frencl and Marc Zappavigna; cherished uncle to several and friend to many.

John was an avid outdoorsman and sports fanatic who enjoyed sharing cigars, beers, and laughs with family and friends. He especially loved supporting his children at activities and sports whether as a coach or a spectator. He was a compassionate and caring man, always putting others before himself. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends, those that have worked with him, and countless others.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, October 14, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Brady-Gill Funeral Home.  A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, October 15, 2021 at 9:30 am at St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church.  The family has requested that remembrances be made in the form of contributions through the following Go Fund Me link shorturl.at/ckJY3 which will directly support the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
