Allan died in 1995 shortly after their Golden Wedding Anniversary.  Reta remained on the farm she loved with her elder son Jack for ten years before retiring to the Tiger Hills Villa in Treherne.

Surviving are her two sons, John W. Ross and daughter-in-law Carylann on the farm, Gordon C. Ross and daughter-in-law Dianne of Calgary, AB and her only grandchild, Dr. Nicole Christie Ross of Boston, MA.
