Nancy Trevisan Hamilton, Ontario Obituary

Nancy Trevisan

Trevisan, Nancy/Nunziatina (nee Viola) Nancy passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, October 10, 2021. She was the beloved mother of Louise (Arthur) Quinn and Albert (Cindy) Trevisan. Cherished nana of Kathleen and Julia (Brennan) Quinn and Aiden Trevisan. Dear sister of Fernando Viola, Nora (John) Majik and aunt to Sarah (Michael) Majik. Predeceased by her parents Mario and Elda (Palombella) Viola, brother Domenic Viola and husband John Trevisan. Nancy was born in Gagliano Aterno, a small village in the Abruzzi region of Italy on December 1, 1936. Her early life shaped her into a kind and compassionate person – truly one of a kind. She loved her family unconditionally, supported all of their endeavours and ensured that they never forgot to “take it easy” along the way. Nancy was rarely without a smile on her face, always offering a story, a song or a tidbit of life’s wisdom. A philosopher at heart, she taught us by example to always be kind to others, take life as it came and focus on better days ahead. She will be remembered by many as the provider of blankets, sweaters and socks, regardless of need. Nancy always ensured that everyone was nourished, whether by her delicious food or simply the warmth of her heart. Her joyous soul will be dearly missed, though her loved ones will try to respect her wishes to continue to celebrate her life rather than grieve it. Visitation will be held at P.X. DERMODY FUNERAL HOME, 796 Upper Gage Ave. (between Mohawk and Fennell), on Thursday October 14, 2021 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday October 15, 2021 at 12pm at St. Catherine of Siena Church 416 Mohawk Rd. East. Internment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery 254 Garner Rd. West. If desired, donations to Neighbour to Neighbour Centre 28 Athens St. would be appreciated by the family. Due to Covid-19 anyone wishing to attend the visitation and service, please RSVP either on the funeral home website or by calling 905-388-4141. Everyone must wear masks and practice social distancing. Online condolences can be made to www.dermodys.com
