<p><strong>Nancy Lynn Melvin</strong></p> <p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; 1959-2021</strong></p> <p>Nancy Lynn Melvin (Gillis), the wife of Ron Melvin of Napan, NB, passed away suddenly, but very peacefully at her home on October 8, 2021, at the age of 62.</p> <p>Born in Newcastle, NB, on September 28, 1959, she was the daughter of Roy and Anita (Parks) Gillis.</p> <p>Nancy worked 39 years as an Insurance Broker with Tozer Insurance, where she became known as a trusted source of insurance knowledge.&nbsp; Nancy grew up on the family farm in Napan, and her love of family and sense of community kept her in Napan.&nbsp; Nancy embodied a spirit of community and fellowship.&nbsp; She absolutely loved her community and the people in it, and gladly contributed when and wherever there was a need. She faithfully attended the Carmel United Church in Napan where she was a member and was also an Elder and sat on the Board of Stewards.&nbsp; She was also a Treasurer for the Napan Hall Board Committee and a member of numerous other boards and committees within her community. She loved her Thursday card games and her BINGO.&nbsp; She especially enjoyed her Friday lunch dates with the girls.</p> <p>Nancy&rsquo;s family was her everything.&nbsp; She will be sadly missed by her parents, Roy and Anita; husband, Ron of 43 years; son, Danny (Amanda) of Napan; daughter, Joan (David) of Miramichi; three special granddaughters whom she adored and would do anything for:&nbsp; Alexis, Lauren, and Lydia; four sisters:&nbsp; Darlene MacDonald (Darrell) of Napan Bay, Penny Hebert (Rejean) of Pointe-Sapin, Patty Taylor (Tim) of Napan, Sandra Berscheid (Jim) of Lincoln, NB; and three brothers:&nbsp; John (Brenda) of Napan, Donnie of Napan, and Kirk (Tanya) of Napan. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, as well as great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.&nbsp; Nancy could always be called upon to recall the birthdays of each of her numerous loved ones!</p> <p>A visitation was held at Adams Funeral Home, 140 King St., Miramichi on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, from 7-9 pm and also on Thursday, November 11, 2021, from 2-4 &amp; 7-9 PM.&nbsp; A funeral service was held at Carmel United Church on Friday, November 12, 2021, at 1 PM with Rev. David Allan and Rev. Charlene Maguire MacKnight as Officiants.&nbsp; Music for the service was provided by pianist, Barb Somers and the joint congregational choir of the Loggieville-Black River Community of Faith.&nbsp; The hymns were:&nbsp; &quot;In the Bulb There Is a Flower&quot;, and &quot;Here I Am, Lord&quot;.&nbsp; The recessional song was a recording of &quot;One More Day&quot;, by Diamond Rio.&nbsp; The eulogy was by Darlene MacDonald.&nbsp; A poem was read by Patty Taylor.&nbsp; The Honorary Pallbearers were:&nbsp; Thelma Carroll, Judy Davidson, Ginette Garrish, Bonnie Godfrey, Debbie Hamilton, Christine Malley, Lorraine Moar, and Beth Sanford.&nbsp; Also included in the honour guard formation were Nancy&#39;s Friday Lunch Girls.&nbsp; Interment was held in Pine Grove Cemetery, Miramichi, NB.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>IMPORTANT:</strong></p> <p>Please be advised of Government of New Brunswick requirements for mandatory masking in all indoor public spaces, and the requirement to provide proof of FULL vaccination, as well as proof of any medical exemption, and government-issued ID for all those 12 and older upon entry for BOTH visitations and funerals.&nbsp; Please consider the allocation of extra time required to register for services.
