Dane Alexander Wright

Dane Alexander Wright, 29, passed away at his home on October 9th. Dane was a beautiful soul. His big blue eyes and smile brightened our days. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and Manchester United. He loved to work out at the gym and he had a promising career in the culinary field. Dane graduated Summa Cum Laude from Sullivan University’s Culinary program in 2016 and loved working in the kitchen, especially with Local Feed, Holly Hill Inn, Midway Bakery, Barn 8, and his current position with Epping’s on Eastside. His desire was for people to appreciate the art and beauty of cooking and to make dining a meaningful experience. Dane was baptized at the young age of seven and grew up at First Baptist Church in Richmond, KY. He is survived by his parents, Martin and Ava Wright of Richmond; a sister, Kirsten Wright of Lexington; paternal grandmother Mary Sue Wright Howard “Granny Sue” of Bedford, TX; maternal grandmother, Janet Golden of Pulaski, VA; a loving family of aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his faithful friend, Olive. We are blessed and thankful for the 29 years of memories that we will always hold in our hearts. Dane was preceded in death by his paternal grandfathers, Melvin Leighton Wright and Sidney Leroy Howard. One cousin Bryson Myers. Funeral services will be 7:00 PM Monday, October 18, 2021, at Tates Creek Baptist Church 1255 Boonesborough Road, Richmond, KY 40475 with Rev. Bill Fort, Rev. Rob Taylor, and Rev. Jeff Prosser officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the service. You may view the service live on www.davisandpowellfuneralhome.com . Honorary pallbearers will be, Bob Westfall, Christopher Olson, Brandon Myers, Tara Kirkley, Steven Westfall, Trent Compton, Sarah Schreiner, Mark Schreiner, Jr., Jason Jacobs, and Kyler Jacobs. Arrangements are with Davis and Powell Funeral Home in Berea, Kentucky.
