Karen Lee Blair, 86, of Quincy, passed away at 9:15 am Monday, October 11, 2021 at Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. A Funeral Ceremony will be at 10:00 am Saturday, October 16, 2021, at the O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy. Rev. Steve Disseler will officiate. Burial will follow at Quincy Memorial Park in Quincy, IL. Friends and Family are invited to Karen's Life Celebration at a visitation that will be Friday from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at O'Donnell-Cookson Life Celebration Home in Quincy, IL. Karen was born November 16, 1934, in Quincy, IL to Edgar and Florence Anna (Erke) Schroeder. She was married to George Montgomery Blair on July 21, 1956 at Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ in Quincy, IL. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2000. Karen is survived by two step sisters, Betty (Harold) Tenhouse and Naomi Austin; several cousins; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Karen was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Dean Schroeder; and one step brother, Robert Erke. Karen worked for twenty-one years in the personnel office of Gardner Denver. She later went on to work at Blessing Hospital as a director of social services for twenty-three years until her retirement in 1993. Karen was a woman of good heart and good faith. She enjoyed volunteering in the community and held Quincy Humane Society near and dear to her heart. When Karen wasn`t volunteering, you could find her out in her garden or playing golf at Westview golf course with her many friends. Karen was very involved with her church and was devoted to God. Karen was a member of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ. Memorial contributions may be made to Quincy Humane Society, St. Jude Children`s Research Hospital, or Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ.
