<p>LAWTELL - A Mass of Christian Burial for David Brent Berard will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at 3:00 p.m. at St. Bridget Catholic Church in Lawtell. Fr. Ted Broussard will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow in the church cemetery.</p> <p>David, age 68, a resident of Church Point, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his home surrounded by family.&nbsp;</p> <p>David will be remembered as a dedicated family man; he was a devout husband, a loving father, grandfather, father-in-law and uncle. He always had a witty sense of humor that could lighten up any room.&nbsp; David enjoyed being outdoors and riding four wheelers with his grandchildren.&nbsp; He was a dedicated employee of Franks International for over 27 years prior to his retirement.</p> <p>David will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew and loved him.</p> <p>He is survived by his son, Ty Berard and wife Courtney Berard; grandchildren, Dax Berard and Vivian Berard; sisters, Catherine &ldquo;Cat&rdquo; MacDiarmid, Christine &ldquo;Cris&rdquo; Berard and Denise Berard Morse.</p> <p>He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Janice Berard; parents A.L. Berard and Evelyn Berard; father-in-law, Vernon Duplechin; and brother-in-law, Charles Duplechain and Rocky Prevost.</p> <p>Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. at Sibille Funeral Home in Opelousas. The rosary will be recited at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.</p> <p>Words of Comfort to the family may be expressed at www.sibillefuneralhomes.com.
