<p>Richard Ray Schroeder,81, of Harwood, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021. He was born July 28, 1940 in Gonzales County the son of Walter and Julia Vacker Schroeder.</p><p><br></p><p> He married Barbara Pick on November 6, 1959. He worked as a construction project manager with the CCC Group of San Antonio where he retired in 2003 after years of service. He was an active fund raising member of the Delhi Volunteer Fire Department. He and Barbara were members of the Victoria Model A Club where they drove their restored 1931 Ford Model A pickup. After retirement he devoted his time to ranching. He was a deer hunter and loved the outdoors.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Barbara Schroeder of Harwood; sisters: Joyce Harris of Gonzales, LaVerne Davis and Betty Schroeder both of Waelder; sister-in-law Jo Nell Pick of Gonzales and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister Barbara Schroeder Harsch.</p><p><br></p><p> Memorials may be made to: The Thompsonville Cemetery Association or the Delhi Volunteer Fire Department.</p>
