Ms. Willie Arlene Wilds, 67, of Woodleaf passed away October 9, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. Born April 17, 1954 in Rowan County to the late Lawrence Kesler and Willie Pearl Mills. Arlene touched all the lives of everyone she encountered with her encouraging words, helping hand, and genorosity. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and sister. She was the center of attention of any room she entered. Arlene had such a huge love of life and humorous personality. She was simply one of a kind. Arlene enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and traveling. Arlene graduated from West Rowan High School, Class of 1972. After graduation she attended Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Arlene spent the last 4 years working for the Rowan Salisbury Schools at Hurley Elementary School. A member of Miller's Chapel AME Zion Church, Salisbury, Arlene was faithful to the church as well as the community. She held the position of Usher President for the adults and youth, and local Home Missions President. She was preceded in death by her father, Lawrence Kesler, mother, Willie Mills, brothers, James Kesler, Robert Kesler, and sister, Wanda Kesler. She leaves precious memories to her children, Elliott Wilds, Sr. of Woodleaf, LuGina Dumas( Michael) of Salisbury, and William " Alex" Montgomery Sr. (Sarah) of Statesville; sister, Virginia Montgomery of Salisbury, brothers, Steve Kesler , and Joseph Kesler of Salisbury, grandchildren; Elliott Wilds, Jr. Nicolai Wilds, Michael Dumas, Jr., Moriah Dumas, and Kadean Wilds, three great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
