ST LANDRY – Funeral services will be held at a 12:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at St. Theresa’s Catholic Church in St. Landry, LA for Margaret Yvonne Soileau, 83, who passed away on Sunday, October 10, 2021, surrounded by her loving family.

Father Gregory Downs will be celebrant of the mass and conduct funeral services.

Burial will take place in the St. Theresa Church Cemetery.

Margaret Yvonne Soileau was born on January 29, 1938, in Eola, LA to W.W. “Bill” Roberts and Lucille Richard Roberts.  A 1955 graduate of Bayou Chicot High School, she was a retired LPN.  Yvonne was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.  Raising her family was her greatest joy. She loved her children unconditionally and taught them to love the Lord.  Yvonne loved cooking for her family and tending to her flower beds.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and celebrating her favorite holiday which was Christmas.   She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by those she loved.

She is survived by her two sons, Patrick Soileau, Jr and wife, Rose Marie of St Landry and Robert Leslie Soileau and wife, Bonnie of Turkey Creek; four daughters, Karen Chaddrick and husband, Earbie of Turkey Creek, Andrea Demoruelle and husband, Greg of Bayou Chicot, Janine Rayburn and husband, John of Glenmora and Anita West and husband, Kevin of Pine Prairie; fifteen grandchildren, Kevin Soileau, Eric Soileau, Ryan Soileau, Molly Chaddrick, Earbie Chaddrick, II, Breanna Woodward, Amanda Guillory, Jake Rayburn, Caleb West, Olivia West, Ethan West, Kamryn West, Elijah Soileau, Leslie Soileau and Donald Soileau;  twenty three great grandchildren; sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, Nelba Mire and husband, Vernon of Turkey Creek, Chester Soileau and wife, Carol of Dry Prong, June Roberts of Bayou Chicot and Sandy Roberts of Chalmette.

She is preceded in death by her parents; W.W. "Bill" Roberts and Lucille Richard Roberts; her husband, Patrick Soileau, Sr.; great grandson, Jack Deville; and her two brothers, Richard Roberts, and Herman Roberts.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Soileau, Eric Soileau, Ryan Soileau, Earbie Chaddick, II, Jake Rayburn, Caleb West, Ethan West, Elijah Soileau and Donald Soileau.

“To my children, I want you to know, if I could live my life over, the only thing I would do differently is to love you all more.” Love, Mama.

The family requests that visitation be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Ville Platte from 10:00 AM until 9:00 PM.  A rosary will be recited by Father Gregory Downs at 6:30 PM on Tuesday.  Visitation will resume on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 9:00 AM until time of service.
