Jonesboro- Belva Yvonne Prater, 79, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at NEA Baptist Hospital. She was born November 30, 1941 in Poughkeepsie to the late James and Ruby Shirley Moody. She has worked in housekeeping at Methodist Hospital, Crane Company and G & K Uniform Services. She enjoyed gardening and working in the yard. Mrs. Prater was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Stacy Prater (Wendy) of Jonesboro and Kim Ewers (Don) of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Allen Pope, Jo Ella Stotts, Cody Stotts, Alivia Ewers, Sophie Prater, Eryn Ewers and Logan Ewers; siblings, Betty Moody Louy of Jonesboro, Randall Moody of Springfield, Missouri, Delbert Moody of Spokane, Washington and Vickie Moody Lykins of Memphis; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Morris Prater; siblings, Cleburne Moody, Dale Moody, William Moody, Connie Moody Henson, James Moody Jr., Ronnie Moody, Garrison Moody and Ricky Moody. A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randall Moody officiating. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
