Roger Paul Ertmer Obituary

Roger Paul Ertmer, 61, of Eaton passed away October 9, 2021 in Loveland. He was born January 29, 1960 in Caledonia, Illinois to Robert David and Patricia Mary Lou (DuBord) Ertmer. The family moved to Colorado, settling in Pierce. A 1978 graduate of Highland High School, he excelled at football and wrestling and enjoyed track and baseball. On November 20, 1985, he married Joyce Rose Kielian in Eaton. Roger worked for the Agland Bean Plant, retiring in 2017 and then worked part-time as a handyman at the Eaton Recreation Center and the Eaton library. He loved camping, fishing, being in the outdoors, supporting the Eaton Reds, traveling but most important to him was time with family. They attended the Eaton Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Joyce, children; Josh (Jennifer) Burns, Ty (Meghann) Ertmer and Chelsey Ertmer, four grandchildren; Charlotte Ertmer, Matilyn and Kaelyn Burns and Ned Ertmer, siblings; Rob (Susan) Ertmer, Rogene Smith, Mary Daughtrey, Donna Munch, Kathy Starr, Doug Ertmer and John Ertmer. He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter Jessica Renae Burns and his parents-in-law. Roger’s Life Celebration will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Eaton Community Church, 1561 Benjamin Drive with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to “Make a Wish” or “Colorado Game & Wildlife” in care of Adamson, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634.
