Frederick 'Fred' Burgess Waters

<p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">With heavy hearts, the family of Fred Waters announces his passing, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, October 10th, 2021. Fred was born in Saint John on August 10, 1938; a son of the late Ralph and Thelma (Anderson) Waters, and the loving husband of Joan (Gamble) Waters. Fred spent 3 years at UNB in the engineering program. While working at NB Tel in Saint John, he met his wife Joan. Fred was a dedicated and respected employee for 29 years in transmission design at NB Power in Fredericton. After retirement, he and Joan lived on their farm overlooking the Kennebecasis River in Summerville. For many years, Fred and his dogs enjoyed daily walks across fields and on woodland trails. Fred was an avid deer and partridge hunter who looked forward to yearly fall trips with lifelong friends to the hunting camp in Juniper. Fred was a kind, dedicated, and loving husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed. </span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Along with his wife of 59 years, Joan, Fred is survived by his children; son David, daughter Karol Waters (David Lomas), both of Summerville; sisters Lois Lacey of Fredericton and Rosalie Clark of Portland, ME; grandchildren Emily Long, Nathan Lomas, and Myles Lomas. Fred&rsquo;s wife and family want to express heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Regional Hospital for their excellent care and kindness.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14px;"><span style="font-family:georgia,serif;">Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424). In keeping with Fred&rsquo;s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service, and a private family graveside service will be held at Summerville United Church Cemetery. For those who wish, donations to Summerville United Church would be appreciated by the family. &nbsp;</span></span></p>
