Jack G. Mattaliano Obituary

Jack G. Mattaliano, 72, of Ewing, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Capital Health System at Fuld in Trenton, NJ. Born in Trenton and raised in Ewing, Jack went to Notre Dame High School (where they knew him as John), attended Rider University, and then left the area to serve in the US Air Force. He served during Vietnam and was stationed in Texas, California and Germany. While in Germany, he worked as a computer programmer creating innovative programs allowing military data to be stored securely. He enjoyed playing for the Air Force traveling baseball team while abroad. Jack loved his time overseas and the opportunities it gave him to see much of the world. Jack returned from his time in the service and settled in Connecticut where he resided until returning to New Jersey in 2002. While in Connecticut, he worked as a computer programmer and then in the food service industry having managed several restaurants. Most recently he was employed with the State of New Jersey at the Motor Vehicle Commission as a records technician. A master chef, Jack loved to cook, whether it was for a small group of 1 or 2 or a large gathering. He relished singing in the Sanctuary Choir at Capital Assembly of God, making meals for hurting church families, and often served as Lector at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed sports of all kinds but was a die-hard Yankee fan. Known for his big heart, Jack could, and would, talk to anyone making new friends along the way. A gregarious, outgoing man, he will be remembered for his humor, his generosity of his time, talent and means, and his devotion and love of family. One of Jack’s love languages was gift giving, with every gift given both thoughtful and fitting. Predeceased by his parents, Zachino (Jack) and Madeline Mattaliano; he is survived by his wife, Julie M. (Gengozian) Mattaliano; his children, Jason P. and Keri E. Mattaliano; his brother, Thomas Mattaliano and his wife, Joan; his stepdaughter, Cailin McGuinness; his dear uncle, John Matis; and his many cousins, nieces and nephews.
