<p>Linda Karen McKee, beloved friend, sister and humanitarian was freed from her cancer battle on Friday, October 8, 2021.</p> <p>Linda was born on Friday &ndash; September 13, 1946. Linda was outspoken and fiercely loyal. Linda is a member of Saint Andrews Anglican Church, Father Commins, Priest. She is a sister in the Coffee County, Red Hat Society, an auxilian at Coffee Regional Medical Center, a judge for the Georgia Barbecue Association and she supports many local and national charities, including Samaritan&rsquo;s Purse, Coffee County Senior Citizens, American Cancer Society and many more. She already has Christmas boxes for 2 boys and 2 girls to send to Africa and 2 baskets for the Coffee County Senior Center. She is an alumni of St. Anselm&rsquo;s College in Manchester, NH and received her specialist degree from West Georgia and maintained broad field certification in Science. She taught in the Fayette, Clayton, and Rockdale County school systems before retiring and moving to South Georgia. Linda is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents and a brother.</p> <p>Linda is survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Leslie and Craig Buchanan and their daughters and brother, Guy McKee, all from New Hampshire. Linda is also survived by her two best friends, Peggy Caldwell of Morganton, Georgia and Jama Kirkland of Ambrose, Georgia and adopted niece, Sarah Kirkland of Marietta, Georgia.</p> <p>A memorial service will be held at Sims Chapel on Thursday, October 21 at 4 PM, Father Commins&nbsp;officiating. Linda requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Cancer Society and/or Coffee Regional Medical Center Foundation. &nbsp;</p> <p>Sympathy may be expressed by signing the online registry at www.simsfuneralhome.org.</p> <p>Sims Funeral Home, Douglas, GA is in charge of arrangements.</p>
