Lyman King Obituary

Lyman King, 80, of Jackson, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at his home.

He was born July 27, 1941, in Neelys Landing, Missouri, to Noah and Amanda Craft King.  He and Delores Craft were married April 8, 1961, in Jackson.

He worked many years in the Street Department for the City of Jackson, retiring as a foreman in 2007.

He was a member of New Bethel Baptist Church.

Loving survivors include his wife of 60 years, Delores King of Jackson; a daughter, Cynde (Mark) Sharrock of Jackson; two granddaughters, Amanda Winschel of Perryville and Markie Sharrock of Jackson; four great-grandchildren, Noah and Bennett Winschel, and Kaydin, and Kinsley Sharrock; and five siblings: Carol Slusher of Parker, Arizona; Leo, Gene, J. D., and Tommy King, all of Cape Girardeau.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister and 11 half-siblings.

Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.

The funeral is at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at the funeral home, the Rev. Don Slatton officiating.  Burial will follow at New Bethel Cemetery near Pocahontas.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
