Phyllis L. Miller

YORK – Phyllis L. (Senft) Miller, 84, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021 at UPMC Memorial Hospital. She was the longtime companion of Jack Kirby. Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by husbands, Donald L. Casner and Donald W. “Red” “Sarge” Miller. Born June 14, 1937 in York a daughter of the late Ralph F. and Catherine (Hetrick) Senft, she was a 1955 graduate of William Penn Senior High School. Mrs. Miller was co-owner of the former Senft Bros. Potato Chips and had worked at the Salvation Army and retired from Petry & Morrow, Inc. in York. She was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Shiloh American Legion, Viking Athletic Assoc. and in her younger years she was involved with American Business Women. Mrs. Miller is also survived by three daughters, Catherine A. and husband Byron Snellbaker of York, Elizabeth A. DaLessio of Reading and Suzanne L. and husband Christopher Oberlander of Hanover; five grandchildren, Neely (Tyler), Elliott (Emily), Evan (Hannah), Marshall, Chloe (Josh); eight great grandchildren, Lars, Korbyn, Delayni, Loky, Killian, Isaac, Sadie, Lillian; a brother, Edwin and wife Sally Senft of York; and two nieces, Nan (Bob) Durocher and Jan (Steve) Bowman. She was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Stuart W. Funke. A Celebration of Life Tribute Service will be held from 1-5:00 PM Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at Viking Athletic Assoc., 318 N. Adams Street, West York. Private burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Heffner Funeral Chapel & Crematory, Inc., 1551 Kenneth Road, York is in charge of arrangements.
