Laura Prue
Laura Jean Prue, 59, of Marshalltown and formerly of Denver, Colorado, gained her angel wings on the afternoon of Saturday, October 9, 2021 surrounded by her loving husband and daughter at the Iowa River Hospice Home. Per Laura’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded and no formal services are planned at this time. A family led celebration of life will be announced at a later date. Mitchell Family Funeral Home is caring for Laura and her family. Laura Jean Prue was born to parents John W. and Sharon (Carter) Call in Madison, Wisconsin, on August 17, 1962. Shortly after her birth, she and her family moved to Texas for a period of time before settling down in Colorado. Laura graduated high school from Cherry Creek High School in Denver, Colorado. On June 6, 1981, she was united in marriage to her husband and love of her life Ervin Prue in Denver, Colorado. They remained with their family in Colorado until the late 90’s when they moved to Marshalltown, Iowa and Laura worked in the sales department at Thomas L. Cardellas for twenty years until she was no longer able. In her free time, Laura loved to cook, work in her gardens, going to antique shows and collecting various treasures, spending time with her family and with her grandchildren. Laura is survived by her husband of 40 years Ervin Prue; her children Amanda (Andrew) Grimes and Ashley Prue; her grandchildren; Brady, Avery, and Nolan Grimes; her siblings, John R. (Debra) Call, Theresa Glanzer, and Melissa (Richard) Merrill; alongside numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents John Call and Sharon Carter; her grandparents Viola and William Moran; and her in law’s Esmert and Catherine Prue.August 17, 1962 - October 9, 202108/17/196210/09/2021
